Oh, please, make Joe White evil, or at least with not just ~good intentions, because, vjkevlrfnbvjgk, still don't like him. I am so glad that Steve wasn't all 'HE CALLS ME SON YAY YAY' about him. It really made me happy that Steve doubted him and his intentions.
Now, how much of Steve asking Cath to look into it sent her to serve? Because I'm sorry, it smells suspicious to me. I loved that goodbye between her and Steve, though, Steve telling her they should meet up halfway and the tears in her eyes and Steve being all, jnfel, Steve, I just. I'd hoped for a kiss, but that hug was good, too. Just, Cath, I'll miss you honey, oh :(. Write me all the fics where they meet up in Mumbai THANK YOUUUU.

Danny, I can't even. His flustered, stammering idiot self when Autumn Reeser came in, I just, oh, BLESS YOU, HOW CUTE ARE YOU, and then he asker her out and yes, because I LOVE HER, OKAY, I HAVE NO SHAME IN SAYING THIS, I ADORE HER AND I WANT HER AROUND ALWAYS. Now, of course I wish there had been some more closure with the whole Rachel business, but, AUTUMN REESER. Also, Danny in that shirt at the end of the episode, I honestly flailed in my chair. Now write me all the awkward first date fics, THANK YOUUUU.
Also, the car discussion (because it wasn't a cargument really) about Gabrielle was just, the cutest thing. A coffee is not a date, it's a beverage, heeee ::draws little hearts around them::

Lori, I still don't quite get. I don't understand what she's doing there? Like, it doesn't make sense, because she's supposed to be babysitting but she's not really, is she? And she's taking some of Danny's space (so is Joe, I wish that first scene at Kamekona's shrimp truck had been with Danny, and it would have been in S1), and I guess it was to relieve Scotty Caan a little, I get that, but, in a way, it still doesn't compute. And at first I was cutting the actress some slack because she was settling in the role, but now I'm starting to wonder if she doesn't have the Chad Michael Murray syndrome of the two faces and that is all she can pull.
I read some review that said the Cath storyline was wrapped up to leave more space to the Steve/Lori flirting. There was flirting? Besides that one look at the end when Cath was waiting in Steve's office, I really don't see it? But that might be just me.

Max I love you, I have nothing else to say to that, I just love you muchly.

Overall, I enjoyed this episode a lot, I really did, and I'm happy that I did because I really wanted to. \o/

Definitely an improvement. I agree that Lori still seems to be flitting around like the writers don't know what to do with her (my view? They DON'T) and I'm hoping when we get Kono back she'll be scaled down.

I was SO relieved when Joe turned out to be possibly evil. He annoys me and I agree that should have been Danny with the shrimp.

I didn't like how they did the gross-out thing with the hand - not because I'm particularly squeamish but it just seemed - again - like they were tryingto needlessly force the show into Generic CSI-Type Procedural territory. That kind of scene is something I associate with those shows, YMMV. Small gripe, I know.

Autumn Reeser kind of looks a bit like Rachel, huh :)

They probably don't know what to do with her, indeed. I don't know, it's just a bit weird, but she's definitely a piece that is not slotting into place for me.

The hand thing didn't bother me - it grossed me out and made me laugh, but I won't be mad at the show for adding a bit of geekery science in. *shrug*

She does? I don't see it, myself, but I am so biased when it comes to her that she might do, and I just don't realise XD. I love the fact that she's originally from Hawaii, this makes me HAPPY.

I loved this episode. Max going into nerdy, fanboy mode at JPAC. Danny flirting in the most obvious and hopeless way at the museum. Catherine and Steve. Oh, God, you could clearly see all the unsaid things, but neither of them knew just how to say them. Danny getting a date! \o/ I already want to rewatch it. ♥

You're not the only 1 thinking Cath got reassigned because she nosed around the DoD request Joe was supposed to put in about Steve's video (& didn't). I read the same thing in the show thread at Television Without Pity. For what it's worth, it makes perfect sense to me. But it would make me sad for Steve 'cause he's already been betrayed by so many people in his life he considers family (ohana) or friends. Except Danny, I think.

I definitely enjoyed the ep! But I'm so tired of Steve and Joe scenes. Waaaay too much Joe. I liked him at first, but now he's kind of a drag. Can he go away now? Or turn out to be evil? And I think Lori is suffering from bad writing. They're just not really giving her anything to do.

I think Catherine was being written out because the actress got a new show. Which has since been cancelled, so it's possible she'll be back.

I agree that there is too much Joe and his taking Danny's place in Steve's free time is starting to grate. I don't see an iota of flirting between Lori and Steve in this epi and I liked that she was acting like a friend to both Danny and Steve.

I don't think they shut the door on Steve and Catherine because I was expecting a "It's been great but we have to move on" and instead we get a "Let's meet up halfway/I like Indian food" instead.

And why is Lori getting all of the sympathetic interviews? First there was the Navy SEAL wife and now Patty Duke's character--was she supposed to be empathetic and showing her profiler ability because to me, she came off as rather cold and unfeeling. I do think she does well in the action/adventure moments though.

Lastly, Scotty Caan makes the show for me. His every scene is gold and I loved seeing him finally moving past Rachel and openly interested in another woman. Go Danny--woo her with your Jersey charm :)

I think Danny would have been better with Patty Duke's character. I mean, Lori not telling her about her son at first was interesting, but then they blew it by having her start to tell her and Steve cutting it off. Shame. They need to give Lori some more to work with.

I enjoyed this episode more than the last 2. Agree about Joe White. I think he's going to be evil or possibly just protecting Steve from some unpleasantness re: his dad. Danny crushing is so cute. Also agree about Lori. She and Steve haven't been flirty at all except when they first met, what happened to that. The Steve/Cath scene was really nice. I totally thought she was going to say she'd been called up for some kind of discipline due to helping out Steve, but then she said she was leaving.

Danny has a type, I'd say.

Autumn Reeser was in a few seasons of The OC, and absolutely perfect in the last season of this show. She also was in Entourage for a while. She's pretty awesome and I looooove heeeerrrr. Her name on the show is, I think, Gabrielle Asano.

I really want a cute little Danny of my very own, please oh please. He was just. I could not handle him this episode. He made me crazy in the best way possible. He was so flustered with his little crush, and then his, "oh! even I know what that means!" AND JUST ADORABLE.

I like Steve and Cath, but I'm kind of glad that she couldn't be at his beck and call that last time. She's an awesome chick and she deserves more than to just be used in that way. I'm sure if there was room for more there, we would have seen it, but it kind of sucked to only ever see Steve wanting favors and then sort of, almost booty calls, I guess. But that scene with them in his office, sigh, my heart. I'll miss her too. I already did miss her!

To be fair about Catherine, I think hers and Steve's relationship worked because she didn't want anything more than booty calls. it was a shame that the show didn't show the booty calls just for what they were, they always added Steve calling her for a favour and then she'd disappear off at sea again and then when she's back, bam again he calls for a favour.

It wasn't necessarily done in the best way, but anyway, in terms of their relationship, I think she was pretty satisfied with it herself. I mean, she spends a long time at sea, and then she's back on port and she's got Steve to take care of basic needs, and have laughs, and spend some good time together. It didn't have to be more, and considering how little time Steve has to give relationships, it worked both ways perfectly, to me...
