Sep. 27th, 2011 09:32 amSo I mostly am not thinking a lot about this episode. It was mostly exposition for the new character(s) and so there was a lot of Lori and not much of anything else. I liked her, she's sassy, but she was around in scenes where Danny wasn't and should have been (because he's the one who can talk to victims without making them bristle - is it going to be her, now?). I found Steve and Lori's interactions good, although the scene in his office about him sidelining her made me cringe a little, it felt very forced. Maybe it was on purpose.
However, I am more concerned about the Kono storyline. I like it, I think it'll be good, but what I don't get is why was Chin the only person who cared enough to go see her? Why was she alone at the end? Somehow, it doesn't really feel very in character to me.
However, yeah, not feeling much about this episode because it was mostly the episode to say, look, this is Lori, she'll be around now.
SO, OKAY, HELLO LORI!
Next week's promo, though, vfjvkfls I cannot wait XD.

Date: 2011-09-27 12:05 pm (UTC)That bothered me a bit, but as I was wondering why the rest of the team wasn't there for Kono, I realized they were in the middle of a kidnapping case so, I presume that's why we didn't see them around her?
At the end, no one was , but I think that's part of the setup. The team has to think she's out.

Date: 2011-09-27 12:14 pm (UTC)If I recall, Steve already said he ordered Kono to take the money, right? We don't know what was said at ther hearing. Much like Chin and his aunt, I think Kono is tryng to do this on her own since the money was stolen for Chin.
We'll see. I know this is TPTB's way of getting Kono something edgier arc wise.

Date: 2011-09-27 12:21 pm (UTC)It still means she's alone in it which makes me sad, but we'll see how it pans out.

Date: 2011-09-27 01:17 pm (UTC)I hated that they were all watching it on TV from the office and she was all alone at home by herself. It was painful to watch.

Date: 2011-09-27 12:38 pm (UTC)And I get that they were working a case and a pretty time sensitive one, but why was Kono left completely alone to face I.A? And why isn't Steve more upset by it?
I do hope there is a better balance of team member interaction in the upcoming episodes. I like Lori but I don't want to become over-saturated with her character.

Date: 2011-09-27 01:07 pm (UTC)And Danny touched Steve a lot because he looked really hot in a suit. That's all I really need in an ep. :D

Date: 2011-09-27 01:16 pm (UTC)Danny touching Steve should be mandatory really.

Date: 2011-09-27 01:32 pm (UTC)And Kono? So upset about that. Regardless of if she is or is not part of Five-0, she is still supposed to be family to them, and that seems to have been thrown out the window. And yeah, she definitely should not be going through all of this alone.

Date: 2011-09-27 05:09 pm (UTC)I mean Steve made a point of telling Lori how they all had each others backs and then there was Kono all by herself at the end. So not cool.

Date: 2011-09-27 05:22 pm (UTC)It might be frowned upon, but they stole the money to save Chin's life, what they stole was destroyed in the process, preventing them from returning it after the situation as resolved, and Jameson covered their asses by replacing the money -- I'd say that would fall under the umbrella of her full immunity and means, as the situation took place months before she was killed.
Now, why Steve was willing to throw himself on his sword in Kai e'e about the missing money, yet has remained strangely silent now that Kono's on the hook... that's a puzzle.

Date: 2011-09-27 07:13 pm (UTC)Other than that, what I got out of this episode was one Babe, and one How long have you two been married. Good harvest.

Date: 2011-10-01 05:45 am (UTC)Which again, surprise. I'm definitely not one for "new additions", especially for a show that's supposed to focus on TEAM. I just...didn't mind. Probably because I know that they aren't going to make it a love interest now.
And she asked how long Danny and Steve had been married. That kind of made my night.
Still, the Kono thing I have to push away a little. PLenkov says to "hang in there", so I shall. This better be a pretty kick ass story arc though.
