Okay, I really feel the need to ask this question here, because I am a bit worried about things I have read this afternoon...
In fic, do you prefer when characters use a condom or not? Say, in a Steve/Danny first time fic, what do you prefer? What do you think is more in character?
Please, do tell me. Any answer would be precious for my sanity, right now.

Date: 2011-09-01 04:12 pm (UTC)That's the real problem, and it's more than just condoms (which they totally both would use for full-on sex, IMO). It's the attitude of "I want them to do this, so I'm going to make them do it even if it's not in character and with no explanation, because it's fiction, so who cares?"
I care! If you want to write Danny strangling a kitten, then you'd better have a really great reason for it, dammit! (Not that anyone has written Danny strangling a kitten, that I know of, but it is definitely out of character...)

Date: 2011-09-01 04:22 pm (UTC)I'd love to see a story where Steve murders Wo Fat. Cold, premeditated murder. But until I come up with something believable and not (too) cliche...I'm not writing one. Because as much as I'd like to see him do it, his moral compass would have to be pretty fucked up to literally seek the guy out and plan his murder.
Now coming face to face with him in the heat of the moment and getting a chance for a questionable but justifiable homicide...that's a different story.... ;-)
