So I was attacked by a migraine this morning - mine usually come with photophobia and nausea so I spent most of my day in bed hiding from the sun. Got dozed on painkillers that made me the most woozy ever and managed to sleep during the afternoon. Getting better now, photophobia and nausea are gone but my head still hurts, which makes me want to cry a little. I cannot think, pain comes in bursts and make my eyes water and then I want to sob like a little girl and possibly get a hug from my mum, which is not going to happen since she's on the other side of the Channel, damnit.

[livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon's hug post is nice and makes me feel better, but hey you guys, if you feel like cheering up a girl, I'll take it! Drabbles pictures gifs hugs I'll take it all, yes yes.

I've had migraines last up to 48 hours. Sometimes I've had the dregs of one last 36. But after my neurologist hooked me up with the good migraine meds I can usually knock one out in 24 hrs. Sometimes sooner.

Can your doc prescribe Sumatriptan (Imatrex)? It's GOOD!

After I got pregnant and had my wee one, weirdly enough, my migraines pretty much stopped. I have one every now and then but I used to get them once a month near my period or weather changes. Hell, I tell you. Hell.

I've actually not been diagnosed - I have them very rarely? So I never felt the need to go to the doctors about it, usually I manage to knock myself out for most of it - this one's dragging on, though, it never used to last longer than 12/14h and this one went over 24h. So I don't have crazy horse dose meds - if it happens again before next year though I will consider it! I have an issue with doctors...

Ah! See, now I know what I have to do ^^. Shame that my body is a bitch and I might not be able to have kids. That's not very helpful.

Heh, I wouldn't recommend having kids as a migraine med. HEE! Because, really, they give you plenty of other variety of headaches. Jesus.

I was having them 1-2 times a month and was missing school and work and generally about to shoot myself. That's why I had to go. But yeah, I totally get having issues with Docs. My neurologist and I went a few rounds of fighting before he gave me what really worked.

Lol I can certainly imagine! I like kids enough....when they're not mine. Not quite at that stage of my life yet (which makes me think I am so so retarded because loads of my friends my age are getting married/having babies, while I'm still in the 'GO TO AS MANY GIGS AS POSSIBLE/TRAVEL THE WORLD/MEET LOADS OF BOYS' phase).

I just don't like doctors...took me years to tell a doctor about my hormonal troubles and then it took them 5 minutes and one tiny test to discover what was wrong. I'm just terrified they're going to tell me I have ALL THE DISEASES.
