Maybe right now is the perfect time to plan holidays far, far away. I don't know. It feels weird, I'm a little torn between my genuine excitement and how horrible I feel about the riots. It's not political or anything, I'm just concerned about my friends, and this city I love, that has been my home away from home for 2 years now.

But still, it has happened, we finally have planned a holiday, and we're going to Los Angeles, and oh, you have no idea just how happy I am about this. Because it's been more than 5 years since I really went on holiday anywhere far, because I've never been to the US, because I feel like a little girl that's getting her wish come true.

So I'm torn. But fuck do I deserve a holiday. I do.

Ugh, I'm so sick about the riots. :( I can't imagine being there in the middle of it. I'm glad you're getting to go on vacation though. Did you get everything worked out with your passport?

Yes! Well, I'm getting there. I contacted the consulate and they told me I didn't need to ask for a new ID before asking for a passport, so I'll get a passport, and then when I've got more time I can request a new ID...So it's only going to take a few weeks to be sorted out instead of 3 months+! So relieved!

Being in the middle of the riots makes me cringe every time I hear sirens. I just don't like the feeling that my favourite place in the world is breaking down.

I live in the US (on the other coast - I'm a NYC girl but now live in the South) and have never been to LA. I hope you have a great time!

Luckily where I live hasn't been touched yet, but I know so many people that live right in the neighborhoods where it burned yesterday =/.

LA first, but NYC is very very high on the list of places I want to go to! Also, Hawaii. :').

Honestly, I have never wanted to go to LA. Then again, I never really wanted to go to Hawaii until I began watching H50. ;) That show is the best travel ad for tourism ever! Well that and the plot. Hehe

I've always wanted to go to NYC more, but we have friends and will have plans when we go to LA so that's a good incentive. Also, hopefully sunshine in the middle of November <3.

oooh America. One day... I'm currently waiting for trip offers for the end of august for a week on some island (Baleares or Canary, let's see which cost less)...planning trips can be so frustrating and exciting at the same time. Hope all the planning turns out well :)

I thing the think that shocked me most was seeing pictures a friend of mine took - put them on Facebook. And then there was the report of a guy that got shot last night and died. It hurts so much.
