#1 The Hypothetical AU Meme: Take any one of the fandoms you know I write AND give me another time period (Ancient Rome, Regency England, etc.) OR give me a type of AU (space opera AU, pirate AU, superhero AU, etc.). I will then explain what story from that fandom I would AU in that era.
#2 YOU pick a scene from one of my fics that you want to see from another character's perspective. I write it!
#3 Tell me about a story I haven't written, and I'll give you one sentence from that story.
#4 If you could force me to write anything, what would it be?
#5 The thing is, when people look for stories, they always make it sound like badfic. Now, often that's because it really is badfic, but sometimes it's good and they just suck at describing the story.
So, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to summarize badly any one (or more!) of my stories and I'll try to guess which it is. You could even pretend you don't remember the pairing or fandom to make it harder to guess.

Date: 2011-07-13 11:04 am (UTC)Rachel doesn’t hesitate when she hears the name Steve through the intercom, opening the gates for him and waiting for him at the door, watching him approach, his strides purposeful and strong. He’s taller than she thought he’d be, also darker around the corner and in the eyes, contrasting sharply with Danny’s brightness. He looks tired, sagging a little when he stops in front of her, as if he’s not properly slept in days, probably weeks, if not months. Rachel bites the inside of her lip lightly, releasing and biting again, before scolding herself inwardly.
“Hi, Steve.”
She holds out her hand for him, testing his grip and its strength when he shakes it, letting go quickly, almost…scared, scared of her, what she implies. She doesn’t know who he is, or what he does, besides what Danny has told her, that he travels a lot and they might not know each other really well, but this thing they have going on, it’s real. She can still remember the look in Danny’s eyes and the tone of his voice, completely confident in his relationship with Steve. Completely in love.
Niceties are said, and his voice is low, a little rough, as if unused for a long time. He admits that he’s looking for Danny, and the way his eyes shine when he says the name tells Rachel all she needs to know about the man, even what he’s obviously trying to hide. His hands are trembling a little when she laughs at the notion of Danny living here. His face breaks a little, a façade slipping and showing her that he’s thought Danny was gone, dead maybe. She doesn’t say anything about that, has no idea how she could broach the topic.
Rachel, as a friend, fears for Danny, and as a mother to Danny’s daughter, she fears for the state of his heart, too. Yet she doesn’t hesitate more than a few seconds to give Danny’s address to Steve, praying to herself that she’s not making the biggest mistake ever by doing this. She contemplates calling Danny, but the earnest look on Steve’s face when she throws a look outside makes her forget that idea. She has a million questions she wants to ask, to Danny and to Steve, but it all can wait. From what she has gathered, Danny hasn’t seen Steve in months, if not a year, and she’s not cruel enough to keep them away from each other for longer.
The look of pure relief on Steve’s face when she hands him the address is enough to make her want to reach out and hug him, but she doesn’t, just observes the way the paper shakes in his fingers for a moment. Then she says it, threatens under the veil of soft words, how Danny doesn’t deserve to get his heart broken. She doesn’t mind picking him up afterwards if it happens, but her own heart aches at the mere notion.
Steve’s reassurances ring so true and honest Rachel almost smile. Maybe they’ll be okay.

Date: 2011-07-13 11:29 am (UTC)Steve looks at his hands splayed large over his legs, the orange of his prison jumpsuit contrasting badly with the color of his skin, his tan fading. He’s getting out today, and his knee starts to jump in anticipation when he hears the steps of a guard coming closer and closer. It’s a bit of a blur, getting out – he gets changed in front of a few people, he remembers that, remembers them looking at him like he was a ticking bomb about to explode.
He’s not sure if anyone will be on the other side of the gates when he comes out. The notion makes his stomach twist, it hasn’t been that long but the shadows have grown longer and more menacing in his head, covering the memories of ohana, the things that Danny, Chin and Kono – hell, even Jenna – have been drilling in his skull, that he’s cared for, that they’re not going anywhere, that they’re not leaving him alone, that they love him.
It’s easy to forget in a solitary cell with nothing to feed your thoughts than doubts and faded memories of loss and pain, scars way too easy to rip open. It made him lose his appetite and made him work out harder, trying to push all of the darkness away by focusing on something else. It hasn’t worked very well but it had given him enough space to work out his memories and thoughts on Jameson and Wo Fat and what they’d have to do once he’s out, how he’ll be able to help his own case to be sorted. That was something to work towards, his rehabilitation, his name cleared. It gave him a purpose when nothing else did.
And he hasn’t been told if anyone is picking him up, a surprise awaiting him – or not – once he’s walking out, his old shirt a little looser than it used to be, but soft and comfortable, smelling of home in a way nothing has in jail. He can’t think of anything else than whether or not he’s been left alone, right now, even when he tries. All the shit that has happened while he was incarcerated that he could rehash and start forgetting he’s not even touching, how prison has changed him is something buried deep under the worry that is overtaking everything else, making his skin buzz and his stomach knots.
When he walks out, the sun is harsh on his face, but perfect, hot and bright and amazing. He wants to tip his head back and close his eyes but he sees Danny and his heart soars up to his throat and he can’t look away, relief and a grin etching themselves over his features. He realizes slowly he’s happy, that he’s not alone, that it’s Danny, that something still makes sense in his life.
Danny’s wearing casual clothes, and Steve would stop and contemplate that fact but he’s too hungry for Danny’s touch right now, needs him close and alive, beating and laughing and teasing. Danny seems way too happy to return his hug anyway, clinging to Steve and breathing him in deeply, letting Steve do the same. Danny’s hair is sun warm and smells of apricots, his skin of sweat and sea salt, he smells of laughter and shared breakfasts and arguments in the Camaro, wrapping Steve in all of it, safe and gorgeous. He can hear music coming faintly from the car, Bon Jovi, and he smiles, closing his eyes when he buries his nose in Danny’s hair.
“Hey, Danno.”
His own voice sounds foreign to his ears, but Danny shivers in response, and it’s more than fucking enough. He presses even closer, Danny’s nose in the crook of his neck, his chuckle sounding a little wet.
“You asshole. Don’t do this again, okay?”
“Okay.”
“You hungry?”
“Starving.”
And he is. The generic prison food hasn’t been bad, but it’s nothing compared to what he can get himself, or find on the island, anywhere. He presses his fingers under Danny’s shoulder blades when he feels him explore his chest, as if assessing the situation.
“Come on. I’ll make you some eggs.”

Date: 2011-07-13 02:01 pm (UTC)And Steve’s telling him that he’s here for long enough this time, everything in his demeanor telling Danny that he wants to act on this unspoken thing they had going on before Steve left. Danny opens his mouth, ready to push Steve away, he’s not that easy and he wants more, now, he wants explanations and more apologies, but Steve is leaning in and kissing him, hard and intense and all of his apologies right here, on his lips and on his tongue.
Danny can’t push away, not when it feels this good, not when it’s better than all the times he’s imagined kissing Steve in the past 6 months. This is passionate and angry and pleading at the same time, enough to make Danny fall to his knees if Steve wanted him to. He’s about to moan, can feel the noise at the back of his throat, and instead of letting it out he bites down on Steve’s bottom lip, plump and full under his teeth, and then he forces his mouth away, panting hard.
“Danny -”
“Shut up. Just – shut up.”

#3 Harry leaves McFly (well, that'd never actually happen so maybe it should be in the AU section, haha. Still, it could be interesting)
#4 Nothing comes to mind :P
#5 Danny meets Harry and wonders how he could even afford the trip.
(okay, not the greatest, but trying to use as little detail as I could and still (sort of) explain the story)

Date: 2011-07-13 04:57 pm (UTC)#1 So Steve is this ballet dancer, like, he’s a pro and he’s super talented, he went to Juilliard and all that, and he’s first dancer in the Ho Kelly group and he’s very proud, but his boyfriend is even prouder, though. Because his boyfriend is Danny, the fitness trainer, who’s a bit loud and ranty and abrasive and he doesn’t mind yelling after ballerinas that eat pasta instead of salad, but he’s also sweet and he’s got a huge heart and he’s funny and he loves Steve very very much, really. And Kono’s this new ballerina, she just joined the group and she’d love to be first dancer but she’s too new, but Steve has taken her under his wing and he’s teaching her stuff while they’re off official rehearsals. And Jenna’s the makeup artist (she wanted to be a ballerina but she was told she wasn’t bendy enough), and Max’ the composer, and Chin’s the choreographer. And this story tells the tale of their tour of Hawaii, how Danny got heatstroke after heatstroke, and Steve started putting pineapple in everything he ate, and Kono climbed coconut trees and Jenna discovered she hated milk, all the while Max decides he’s a genius and will write a symphony, and Chin tries to keep it all together.
#3 In the end they compromise, three days in London, three days in the countryside, so Danny buys Wellies in London while Steve grumbles and holds the shopping bags full of stuff for Gracie, but then he’s sorry when the car stalls in the mud on their way to their funny looking wonky cottage, and he doesn’t have appropriate footwear. Danny makes it up for Steve (and for all the brain damage he suffers by banging his head on all the low door thresholds in this stupid wonky cottage) by going down on him by the fire later on that day, and it’s okay, because Steve can be as loud as he wants – nobody’s around to hear but sheep.

#2 Month and Miles, what Danny thinks when he opens the door for Steve in the last part.
#3 That time that Steve and Danny went roller skating.
#4 The AU where they're all in a band, but I try to make everyone write me that. And in myhead it's a folksy sort of band, but hey, I'd take pretty much any kind of band. :D
#5 hi i read a story i think it was a episode tag to one of the ones from late in the season but idk what one anyway steve is tired and danny is watching him it was really good please help and thanks.

Date: 2011-07-13 07:33 pm (UTC)I love these ideas, but, uuuuunnnnfffff restaurant AU -
Because Chin's got this little fusion food restaurant and Kono is a waitress, and Danny cooks (he hates the hat seriously he hates it, but he loves food what can he do) and also bickers and fights with Steve, who is the sommelier and he spends hours polishing wine bottles and Danny thinks it's stupid, yet a little endearing, you know. The fact that they totally fuck in the kitchen after hours has nothing to do with it, really. And Jenna is the baker and Kamekona always tries to convince Chin to let him sell his shave ice in the restaurant and Malia gets all her doctors' conferences to host diners there so Chin can get extra money to pay for their wedding, she's cunning and sweet like that.

Date: 2011-07-13 07:47 pm (UTC)#4: Hawaii 5-0 AU - Steve does extreme sports ( think: cliff diving (start at the top of like the Grand Canyon and fling yourself off opening a parachute partway down) and no-ropes rock climbing). For the hell of it. Danny is a sports journalist (he's uber serious about his work covering groups that climb Everest for charity, and he did an epic article for Sports Illustrated about The U.S. Open going in depth about all the players). When Extreme Sporting Magazine asks him to do a story on Steve McGarrett he considers refusing on the grounds that the stuff Steve does should not be considered sports, and he's probably BugFuck Crazy. But he meets up with Steve to get a read on him and sparks fly.
I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE AND I THINK YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO IT JUSTICE!!!!!

Date: 2011-07-14 10:54 am (UTC)The stupid, goofy asshole. Danny stares at his phone for a moment, disbelieving he just heard the drunken, slurred words he just heard, but it’s on his voicemail, so he calls it again and listens again to Steve’s speech, to these words, these 3 words that mean nothing and everything all at once. All his efforts and all his affection did not go to completely deaf ears. Yes, of course he’s stayed at Steve’s side for their friendship, for Steve’s sanity, for the sake of seeing him get better, but Danny would lie to himself if he hasn’t hoped for more, too. And it’s horrible, he knows, that he’d want to use Steve’s tragedy to get what he wants, but he’s been trying to make Steve understand long before the accident. All the touches and the arguments and the fierceness.
Danny stops himself from getting into his car right now and make his way to Steve’s, check the bastard isn’t too drunk to move or get himself into bed. Instead, instead he calls back, and he yells at Steve through the phone. He’ll deal with the consequences later.
5- ahahah good one for Standing Up In Fire, I approve!
