delicatale: (Richard Madden be my baby daddy)

Just finished the red wedding part. I am fuming and heartbroken and I want to be inside this book and slay them all Freys. Robb was my favourite from the first book, along with his father, and now, now George R R Martin took them both away. Why should I even continue reading, I don't even know. Sansa and Jon, I suppose, but they won't fill the void. I am way too emotionally involved, and I am, honestly, feeling so shit about this, it's stupid, but I can't help it. I couldn't even believe it, I had to read that part three times, with blurry eyes, and I was in the tube, and URGHL, BOOKS.

I've read a theory about Kono on [livejournal.com profile] hawaiifive_0_tv that I like. It is spoilery for the episodes aired and some to come, but, I like this theory. I'm going to cling to this theory.

I know, right? He's so cruel! Luckily for me I love Jon, Daenerys and Tyrion and the "Dance with Dragons" is all about them so I'm a happy reader now but Robb? That was bad, bad, bad.

I didn't love him all that much in the books but he was something else in the tv and I was so sad watching his scenes -- in which he was really growing on me, much more than Jon's tv version actually -- because I knew what is to come. Oh, well. I can't remember what became of his direwolf though? Was he killed too?

I'm not the biggest fan of Daenerys, although lately I've been happier reading her chapters than Arya's or Bran's, which have started to bore me. Also, Joraaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh ♥.

But right now I don't know, I feel a little empty, almost betrayed. I'm anxious to see what happens with Jon now that Robb's gone, but. Just. I don't know, I'm just so sad :(. I don't know about Grey Wind yet, I have just literally finished that part as I had to stop reading.

(if you want some Richard Madden (getting naked, being gay), you should watch Sirens ^_^)

Nah, it's not the actor. At least not in strictly physical sense -- neither he, nor Jon are exactly my type (although I'm not sure what is my type, I've been falling for all kinds of types). It's in the way he protrays the character. Jon comes across as childish and moody on the show and I didn't have that impression from the books. And Robb is so competent and leader-y. Again, something I didn't see while reading. So there.

Did you read the books earlier or did you start reading because of the tv show?

Jon did appear childish and petty to me in the books ^^. It's just feelings.

I started because I went to visit my parents for a few days over Easter, and my dad is the person I always go to to talk about books to read (he is a huge fantasy and sci fi fan, and passed the bug onto me), and he told me about the series and how good and dark it is. It was just a little bit before the show started and people were making a lot of noise about it, so I went for it. I watched the show while being a little ahead on the first book.

I was actually clutching the book yelling "No! NO! NOOOO! You BASTARDS!" during that part. I adored Robb.

FWIW, I do recommend you stick with them - heartbreaking though they are. I actually think Jaime's character development is one of the best things Ive ever read, plus we have Tyrion and Dani and Arya and so many others I love.

I was on the tube, but I gasped and read it over and over and almost started crying. The guy sitting in front of me kept on throwing me weird glances.

Oh, I will. I say that but I know I'll go on - I am now curious as it what is going to happen with Jon. I loved Arya but her chapters have started to annoy me a bit, how many times can she be tossed around, sigh sigh sigh. Hope that's going to change now but I have a feeling it won't. I love the twist of Sansa and Tyrion though (have a lot of love for Tyrion) so I'm clinging to that, and Jon. And I have a love/hate affair with both Jaime and Daenerys, we'll see how it goes XD. It's just. I feel like I'm actually mourning right now.

Have we not discussed the Kono theory? A couple of people discussed it with me on Tuesday and I am completely sold on it. Like, it's the only possible explanation.

I don't think we did! But I am clinging to it like I cling to you because, seriously, so much sense, it explains everything and it makes everybody else not-a-douche.

I'll be honest, the not-a-douche part is mostly why I'm clinging to it at this point. :( Well, and obviously so we get Kono back because that can't not happen.

AUGH!! I was so angry too!! :( Robb was totally my favorite. I could never really get engaged in Arya's and Jon's storylines because they played the tomboy heroine and lone wolf (lol) tropes, which are overdone in the fantasy genre. So in that sense, I found Robb's and Sansa's characters more interesting.

I do love Jon - I liked him with Ygritte a lot, I found that part quite interesting, maybe because he wasn't alone then, and she got him to rethink everything he was made of. I hope she'll come back, but I have little hope of that.
I loved the Sansa/Tyrion twist and I find that part fascinating, even though I want to burn Joffrey SO HARD.

But, my Robb ;___;

Grr Joffrey! I hated him in the books and I hate him even more on the show. And when I say "hate" I mean, damn, most vicious child villain ever. Draco Malfoy ain't got nothing on this kid. (No offense to HP fans!) Btw, are you done with book 3?

I've just started the second book of book 3, Blood and Gold. Literally read the red wedding this morning on my way to work and ached all morning about it.

*all the hugs* :-\

Have you watched the clips of the GOT Comic Con panel? They briefly mention the red wedding there but call it RW so as not to spoil people.

No, I haven't - not really that deep in the fandom? Kinda annoyed at GRRM for his views on fanfic...

Ugh yeah! It sucks when writers are like that. Imagine all the lovely AUs that could've come out of GOT fanfic! :(

To recap the relevant part of panel, the producers said that one thing they want want most for the series is for it to last long enough to get to the RW. They also want book 3 to cover two seasons. Funny thing is, not all the actors have read the books so they probably don't even know it's coming. O___O

From: [identity profile] delicatale.livejournal.com
ugh, I was hoping they wouldn't get there because I've read somewhere that the producers said they wouldn't follow the books forever. But no, no of course they'd kill Robb anyway ;_;. I hate the world.
