I'm not a SEAL and I do not work in a job where my faculties are the difference between life and death. But I lost half my hearing literally overnight last year and have not handled it very well in many respects. My way of coping with it at the time was to turn it into a "what if" fanfiction but I couldn't bring myself to screw the character over so I stopped.

So this premise you are pondering is a story that I'd really, really like to read. *nods*
