Oh wow. That was painful and I hurt so much for Steve. The angst was crisp and sharp and hurt in all the right places, my favorite kind. I like how you describe how he experiences all his emotions and feelings. Having something like that happen to someone like him, I could totally see him breaking and not understanding why. And of course he's stupid to Danny but eventually gives in. I love the slow progression of him coming to terms with things and finally giving in to being happy. And yes he was stupid for telling Danny he loved him in that way but he totally made up for it with some delicious hot smut. Hee! And I love that swimming was what finally centered him and the teaching and the watch and all of it. Your Steve/Danny voices are spot on. I really enjoyed it. *huggles* Steve. Poor guy.
