delicatale: (Steve the Lt Commander is sad)

um, I probably shouldn't admit this so loudly.

It seems I have found myself with a lot of affection for a pairing that isn't written (yet?) (well it has, twice now I think), that is quite wrong and a little twisted, but in a way I love it. Said pairing is grown-up!Gracie/Steve. In different ways. In a 'she's always loved him' way, or in a 'he's always been part of the family' way, or in a 'she's gone for years for college and then she found a job on the mainland and now she's coming back and Steve is older but still gorgeous and she's a woman, now, he can't deny her that' way, I just. I find the idea fascinating. And hot, because grown-up!Grace is hot in my head. And Steve doesn't call her Gracie anymore when she's older and curvy and looks at him with defiance in her eyes, no, and he knows it's wrong because she's Grace but, but.

I don't know, you guys, I'm fucked in the head and all that.

I totally see the appeal. And if you're fucked for wanting to read it what am I for writing it? Or for that matter that Steve/Mary I wrote? Apparently I only like het in this fandom if it is at least a little (or in the Steve/Mary case a lot) fucked up.

I just. Don't see that at all. Can't help it, it just seems a bit too wrong in my head.

It's fucked in the head, yes, but by god, this is fandom. We're all fucked in the head. Also, is Danny dead in that future? Because that would matter a lot to me on whether I could believe it.

This is what I've missed most about Harry Potter fandom, all of the fucked up pairings! I don't think I could read it if she grew up with him the whole time, but if it's, like, Danny and Grace moved back to NJ when she was nine and she just thinks of him as her dad's old friend who is stupidly hot and way too old for her, then I am all over that shit. Well. Okay, I would probably read it regardless of the scenario, as long as she's an adult, but I think I would prefer the "dad's old friend" scenario vs. "he's basically my stepdad." I love cross-gen when it's done right.

As long as she's grown up I think it's awesome and could work. It's crossed my mind before too.

After Supernatural fandom, wrong is really relative. I can't believe some of the stuff I've read, so Steve/Grace doesn't faze me in the least, not even if he is her stepdad (Grace has to be grown up, though). I can understand if people have a problem with it, but I don't see any shame in it - there are worse things being written than two consenting people getting it on.

Well if you are fucked then so am I b/c I could really love reading about this scenario!
Glad I am not the only one!

I could totally get behind the idea of Steve/Grace. She totally superhero-worshiped him at 8 and 9. And he was her first crush at 13. So I can see her coming back to the Island at 22 after a string of failed relationships (because she had ridiculous standards that almost no one could live up to) and realising: 'Holy shit, I've been measuring every boyfriend against Steve. No wonder that didn't go well.'

I know the icon totally doesn't go with what I'm saying, but it's my only Steve/Grace icon.

I trust you to write something delicate and steamy at the same time, with no wicked undermeanings. It won't be worst than all the horrible fics :-) we write about Steve and Danny.

It wouldn't be a first, the man who saw a little girl, liked her then when she's back, years later, she's a beautiful young woman, and he falls in love. Think to "Sabrina" for instance.

That would be fun to read a fic where they fall in love, start a relationship and have to hide from Danny who still sees Grace as his baby.
