So, the Danno thing? I will be in a league of my own there, but I thought it was more than fair game. He was teasing her, she got to slam back.

I tend not to see the ~flirting, or at least I don't see it that way. I choose not to see it that way, and maybe it makes me delusional or something, but you know what? Better that than to be bitter and annoyed every time she is on screen. I'm not her biggest fan, and I get and understand many of the reasons why people don't like her. But I choose to ignore her more than anything else. That's my shtick, and it works for me. You may not agree.

Danny, Danny, Danny. I agree with his views on beliefs, but I also agree with the others, you don't disrespect something sacred like that. It made you sound a bit like an ass, to be honest, and it was...weird.

Also, you could have turned your daughter away from the drunk at the beginning. You don't have to fight for everything, babe. Oooh, fodder for fic here.

The whole ~manipulating the landlord felt very Italian to me, which felt very in character. My Gran is like that, she'll try to get a discount for everything, she used to choose slightly banged up boxes of cereals to have prices on them in the supermarket when I was little. So, Italian, so, idk, since Danny has Italian roots in my headcanon, it felt right. If you thought it was douchey, take it up with my Gran.

Again, I found Kono SO PRETTY in this episode, and that might be because I missed her so much at the beginning of the season, I don't know, but those last two episodes she looked just gorgeous. The whole thing with the priest was heeeee, and I like the fact that she has bonded with Lori.

Also, headcanon, Lori and Max totally went to that costume party together. And she was dressed as Trinity.

The end of that episode, I just. Danny, wearing Converses! And jeans! Steve wearing this most delightful almost see through yellow shirt! And flip flops! Looking all smug and impatient and eyefucking when they're done installing the bed! Kono's little 'ooooooh' when Danny says he might buy a steak knife! Steve only costs Danny a beer! He's such a cheap date. Chin's put upon look! Lori not even protesting about the painting! Steve running after Danny! Heeeeee! That last scene was absolutely perfect. I could have a show of this, I'll be honest ;).

Now, you guys, write me all the codas where Danny comments on Steve's shirt and takes it off, and the two of them sneak off to storage to christen that big big mattress.

Also, you know, when Joe isn't there? I ENJOY. His absence makes me happy.

The whole episode was duller than a sack of hammers for me. I didn't find Danny as douchey as most people because a) crime scene and b) I wouldn't peg a ghost for throwing a rock either. Though, it's not as though I didn't think he wasn't being an ass: he was.

Lori calling Danny Danno didn't faze me...but I've come to terms that I just can't get into her that much. All her scenes would have been served better with Kono and I'm bored with her character despite wanting to like her.

I loved every scene with Max, though, because he was brilliant.

And mostly, I loved that Chin asked Danny about the mattress. Danny/Chin is my otp and I love every tiny little even nod or moment when they interact with each other.

He was being an ass. I put it to the fact that he was upset about the whole Grace doesn't like where he lives thus she doesn't really care about spending time with him these days thing. It'd be pretty upsetting to him and make him impossible, I can buy that. He didn't have to be such an ass, though.

I just tend to ignore Lori. I just forget about whatever she's been saying very quickly.

Danny/Chin! Interesting OTP, also incredibly rare...

I kinda feel for him, in a way. Even if I don't agree how he expresses it. As someone who doesn't just not follow a faith, but feels very strongly in a negative sense towards organized religion...if you don't believe and someone else does, you're always in the wrong in how you feel about it. Whomever has faith in whatever...their feelings always matter more. And I find, personally, that people are quite dismissive of people who don't follow a particular faith. Like we're automatically...lesser because of it? But, that's my own personal damage. Still think he was acting like an ass.

Oh my God, I agree so much with this. So, so much, because I'm the exact same, and I hate people making me feel like it's wrong for me to not believe. That cargument made me feel uncomfortable all 'round, to be fair.

I find Steve acting with any sort of righteous indignation to be the highest of hilarity. He really doesn't have the grounds for it.

I KNOW, RIGHT? Oh, Steve.

I was more bothered about how dismissive the show is about mental illness, tbh. I'm tired of people needing to be "crazy" to be a killer. It's a very unhelpful stigma for those of us with chronic mental illnesses.

I guess their definition of 'crazy' is just too broad. I thought the whole girlfriend part of the episode could have done with more care and explanation.

I handwave a lot of things when it comes to this show.

I handwave it all, I swear. lol I just want to watch an episode that doesn't annoy me.

hahahaha. so very true. At least Max was adorable.

Guess I need to re watch it

I took that whole scene as Steve being upset not at danny's lack of beliefs but at the way Danny totally dissed other people's beliefs. If it was just that Danny has no beliefs Steve probably wouldn't have been like that. If I was Kono or Chin I would have been all over his butt Ohana or not...and me a Danno girl.
Would be funny if someone at the scene complained and Danno had to go take some classes *G*

Butting in...me too. (I'm an atheist.) Also, that conversation took me by surprise, with the implication that Steve was religious and sort of intolerant of Danny's lack of faith. Intolerant is too strong a word - Steve was surprised by it. Which surprised me,in turn. I'm surprised an American TV show is even bringing up the topic actually, or allowing a character to be an atheist.
