Okay, I really feel the need to ask this question here, because I am a bit worried about things I have read this afternoon...

In fic, do you prefer when characters use a condom or not? Say, in a Steve/Danny first time fic, what do you prefer? What do you think is more in character?

Please, do tell me. Any answer would be precious for my sanity, right now.

TBH, I'm writing a fic right now in which Steve and Danny are having an affair while Danny is still married, and the first thing I said was, "I don't care how unromantic it might be, they're using a fucking condom!" because Danny is not that guy. I don't really notice it in fic any more, unless the author makes a big, big deal out of it, and then, yeah, it can be distracting. But there guys aren't stupid, you know?

I tend to notice more when they don't use one, and then I put on my frowny face and think 'but where is the condom in this?' ^^
