hahaha not just american but new england aka boston... although i will admit that living w/ people from the mid-west (aka no accent whatsoever) is making mine more difficult to here.

not that i wouldnt do it entirely on purpose for you guys haha.

Haha, tbh, I'm not very good at telling American accents apart. Unless it's like a Southern accent or a Texan accent... everything else just sounds American to me, lol.

That said, we do have a friend from Boston though. You'll totally have to do the accent for us ^^

oh god, the dialects and accents are so silly. when people hear me speak for the first time and they arent from new england they FREAK OUT. im like "it isnt that great" and they're all "OMG YES IT IS."

i do the same thing when its an irish or aussie accent, though haha its all about what sounds exotic.

Haha, awesome. Can't wait to hear it ^^ I do love accents, they're funnnnn.

I love Irish accents, they're great. And Aussie accents too, obviously.

One of the things that amused us a lot in H50 was when Danny tells Steve that Rachel's mother is from Manchester, implying that Rachel is from Manchester, and people from Manchester do not sound like Rachel. At all, lol.

ahhhh that is a good point! but claire van der boom is aussie, also, so that might be whats futzing w/ hers. idk if the character is actually sposed to be from manchester, but im taking your word on the dialect thing haha.

[identity profile] theellibu.livejournal.com 2011-06-14 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I know she's an Aussie. She does do a decent British accent, although it does sound a bit overly British. Haha, I don't know if Rachel is supposed to be from Manchester, we just assumed. ^^

tis a question for peter lenkov that i may or may not tweet to him since thatd be sort of weird haha.

[identity profile] theellibu.livejournal.com 2011-06-14 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, I'd definitely like to know what he's got to say about this. Maybe they thought Americans wouldn't understand an actual Manchester accent? Idk.

[identity profile] gunslingaaahhh.livejournal.com 2011-06-14 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
or maybe that we cant tell the difference haha *shrug*

[identity profile] theellibu.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, maybe. Just like we can't tell the difference between all the different accents in the US, I guess. They just needed her to sound British, I guess, which she does so it's all good.

ill explain them to me and you can explain the UK dialects ;)

and yeah, she does a great job! close enough for government work, as they say.

Sounds like a plan :) Should be good fun, haha.
